The life-cycle of a Satyagrahi
This lifecycle consisting of principles of Gandhiji’s Satyagraha, has been designed by Vinoba Bhave. The foundations of creative works inspired by Gandhiji are truth and non-violence. A branch of that is sociology, which includes three programs such as service to Harijans (the untouchables), advancement of women, and unity of all religions. It includes love for the mother tongue in the education system, promotion of national language, and new education. New education means appropriate coordination between education and industry.
Economics consists of three programs: Khadi, Village Industries and economic equality. Physiology includes cleanliness of villages, monitoring the health of the village, and prohibition of addiction. These 12 creative works were initiated at the beginning of the Ashram. This Ashram was a prime centre of creative activities in order to build a non-violent society. Many workers from across the country came to be trained here, and experience the life at the Ashram. After obtaining this training, they would return to their respective areas to run these programs. , ensuring that the ideas upon which the Ashram was established, continued to be disseminated across India.
