Office stores and Library
Gandhiji’s articles, which run into approximately one and a half lakh pages, and thirty-four thousand photostat letters have been stored in this Library. Files of newspaper cuttings which were brought back from South Africa and close to 150 honours received by Gandhiji on paper, khadi and palm-leaves are all housed here. The library also contains a collection of over six thousand photos; films based on Gandhiji’s life and the freedom struggle, micro-films, and photostat copies of original handwritten works. 4500 personal books from Mahadevbhai Desai and around 45,000 books on Gandhiji’s ideology, and the freedom struggle, a long side national history are all preserved in this library.
