Kasrurba’s Room
Kasturba was known at the Ashram as – ba (mother). This was a room. Ba always had a distinct place in Gandhiji’s personal and Ashram life.“I have learnt the lesson of non-violence from my wife. Ba was very stubborn. Even if I pressurized her, she only used to do what she wished, which used to lead to temporary or long time bitterness between the two of us; but as my public life flourished, even ba blossomed. After a while, there was no difference between me and the service in my work, and ba began to become an integral part of it,” writes Gandhiji in his autobiography.
