Initial kitchen
This was the Ashram’s initial kitchen. It was a joint and community kitchen in which cooking used to be done on clay stoves and hearths. Many food experiments used to be conducted here. Simple, cheap and nutritious food used to be cooked, in order to maintain the ashram vow of wholesome but ‘non-tasty’ food. This community kitchen was shifted to the other side of the road when the number of Ashramites increased.
